As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting safe, efficient, and high‑quality surgical care. Working under the supervision of the RN, you’ll ensure surgeons and the surgical team have everything they need for successful procedures. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the RN and surgical team by assisting with limited direct patient care.
Handling instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
Maintaining a strong understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
Ensuring a sterile field is properly set up, maintained, and protected throughout the procedure.
Cleaning, preparing, and packaging instruments for disinfection and sterilization.
Assisting with room turnover between cases, including cleaning and preparing the environment for the next patient.
Upholding patient safety standards and maintaining required clinical competencies based on scope and training.
Adhering to AORN Recommended Practices and departmental policies and procedures.
Demonstrating responsibility in time management, resource use, and supply handling.
Participating as a collaborative and supportive team member.
